OFIDIA2school 2nd Contest Prize-Giving Ceremony

The 2nd edition of the OFIDIA2school contest ended with a prize-giving ceremony that was held at the premises of the winning schools in February, 2021. All necessary precautions and safety measures were taken to ensure compliance with pandemic restrictions.

After a short introductory speech on the importance of wildfire prevention and on the various activities carried out by the project OFIDIA2 in that regard, the winning schools were awarded two DJI Mavic Mini drones and also promotional gifts for students. A flight instructor was also there to describe the drone and show students how to use it.

The firefighting campaign brochure designed within the scope of the project was also presented and left at the schools for further distribution.

Using the drone will enhance the quality of school trips and excursions, enabling teachers to set up awareness-raising initiatives and also visits to nature reserves to help students find out more about biodiversity and understand the importance of nature protection.
